Cancer: Acute myeloid Leukemia

"Cancer will always be a big part of my life but I’m glad to say I have been cancer free for two years."
I was diagnosed on June 21, 2017 at 16 years old after months of being told I had strep throat. I was weeks away from dying and my only chance at life were chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. The first month in the hospital was spent sleeping, not being able to talk or walk, some days in the ICU, and constant feeding and breathing tubes. I met some of the most amazing nurses, doctors, and other cancer patients. I also met my now deceased best friend, Caleb. He will always be the light of my life. Cancer will always be a big part of my life but I’m glad to say I have been cancer free for two years. I will be starting college in the fall and joining the cheer team, hoping to make my life more normal. Thank you to everyone for the continuous support.
