"Being a survivor is a life-long journey with tosses and turns but it made me an influencer for the good.

I was living with large ovarian cysts and my cycle was very irregular. After several ultrasounds and a CA125 test, I went to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for a consult. Even after my meeting with the Chief Surgeon for Gynecological Cancers, there was still no definitive diagnosis. I had surgery Mar 8, 2017 (International Women’s Day!) and the pathology came back with Endometrial Cancer Stage 1 and Endometrial Ovarian Cancer Stage 2b. Twenty-five rounds of radiation treatment were prescribed. I decided to tell my story via my blog modacarta.com and I launch 25 Days 25 Looks. I dressed up every day for my treatment appointment and blogged about it. I was also featured on the local news! Since then I raised $1900 through Teal Fashion Week around World Ovarian Cancer Day and this year I hope to do more. From what I want to take away from my story is, being a survivor is a life-long journey with tosses and turns but it made me an influencer for the good.
