"Even when I was floored with pain and fatigue during chemo, I continued to indulge in art therapy."
My art therapy sessions helped me to overcome the horrendous pain that came after several radiation sessions. I did not want to wallow in self-pity and decided to bounce back stronger to ‘recraft’ my cancer life! So, I started to focus my attention on dabbling in colors and doodling and even designed my future t-shirts. This helped my self esteem and created a “can-do, will-do” mindset. Even when I was floored with pain and fatigue during chemo, I continued to indulge in art therapy. I knew I was not blessed with an artistic side, but the art process itself carried me into a fantasy dimension where I felt painless and was at peace with myself. Art taught me acceptance, calmness and patience.
